I believe the weather in Toronto use to be very very cold specialy during winters. What is the trend of weather for a whole year ? Which is the best period to land? Since I'm planning to land in July,2005 for the school's admission in September,2005. Shall I bring the winter clothes from here or would I purchase the same after landing. Any special item to be purchased from here for winters? My wife suffers with cold problem due to polyp during the whole year . Wheather she will be comfortable with the weather conditions of Toronto.Any extra precaution will be required ? Please advice.

Thanx

Yes it is very very very cold during winter, and while the people here may divide the time from October to May as Fall, Winter and Spring, for me it is winter all through. The worst of this worse period are the months of January and February - the two months of sheer hell. Temperatures go down as low as -25 degrees with windchills of over -35. Feel good??:D

Next week is what they call a Spring Break. Guess what the high is for today? -7 degrees C!! Duh!?!?

As I said, it will be summer and that is a good time to land.

I am not sure you will find winter clothing suitable for the extreme cold here, in your country.

So buy here.

That is a medical question. Now that you know about the severity of cold here, ask your doctor.

Thats why we moved to vancouver

It snows only about a week in a year and temperature is below zero like just about 2 weeks . It is warm and beautiful .

Try giving Vancouver a thought as compared to Toronto

I know this may sound rude or irrelevant to this post but a username with "Hazrat Ali" implies Prophet's Mohammad's cousin's name.

That being a great name, we as common people would not call or have ourselves addressed as "Hazrat" Ali. A simple "Ali" denotes a name nevertheless, but "Hazrat Ali" is a title which can only be used when referring to the Prophet's cousin.

If I were you I would drop the word "Hazrat" from your username. It rather looks uncomfortable to address someone "Hazrat Ali". The person who has kept this username may not understand that it deals with a religious sentiment, but I am not compeling or forcing that person to remove it.

This is just a peace intending, yet just, observation. Think about it.

What does "Hazrat" mean ? AFAIK it is a only a prefix to address someone with respect, something like Mr, Sir etc. It is not a name in itself. We have that place in New Delhi that is called Hazrat Nizamuddin. Just because this person's name happens to be Ali by coincidence, why should he be deprived from using Hazrat before his name.

Moreover, a Prophet's cousin is not the Prophet himself. To what extent of relations will you consider before allowing for names to be used with Hazrat as prefix.

You may want to have a look at this website:

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/

Enter the city as Toronto (or any other city that you need the wether information about). The site gives you the latest weather updates and also have a look at the "Historical Data" section for past weather records.

HTH.
