Hello,
I had an interview at Accenture and did not get past through the Performace Factors / Behavioural interview (which I thought went off quite well).
I just wanted to post this thread so that others may be better prepared with regards to the scenario discussion.
I would request the members to throw in their six cents..Do s and Donts for the behavioural interview.
Thanks,
Jack 109

What was it that you applied for at Accenture?

Don't take it too hard.
I am sure you will do a lot better next time.
If it helps any, let me tell you that based on what I have heard, Accenture is one company that is very, very particular about soft skills, people management and behavioural issues.
I have friends who currently work for Accenture, or have worked there in the past and they say that the entire company is built on people skills.
Regardless of how technically expert a person may be, they will not proceed unless you pass their very thorough soft skills evaluation - which explains why it is such a large and successful company.
Better luck next time.

Good analysis, pratickm.
We have said this number of times on CD abt soft skills. Anyone can do programming with some training and exp. That is not a big factor during selection in some of the good companies. Let me repeat what I said before, when I hire experience counts only 25% (hope suttu is not going to jump on me again). People wiht good soft skills can be trained easily.
I dont know if Accenture has the same criteria in India since I know a guy who works there is annoying and arrogant. May be Accenture does not care in India since labor is cheap.

Don't worry Jack. I agree with Pratickm that you will do very well in your next interview. I have had a few telephonic interviews so far. I know I didn't do a couple of them as well as I would have liked to. I was dejected a couple of times after some interviews that didn't go too well. On a couple of other interviews, I felt that I was given a raw deal. You only keep getting better after each interview.
The most recent one was with Accenture last month (there was one technical, followed by another one with a senior manager), and I received a 'conditional offer' from them (I had posted this in a separate thread earlier without mentioning the name of the company). However, I'm still waiting for them to do background checks and other verifications.
Pratickm - do you know how long Accenture normally takes to do background checks? My recruiter had originally asked me to wait for a week or so, but it has been 2+ weeks. Don't know what is taking them so long. I don't want to bug them too much, sounding desparate.
Meanwhile, I have landed in Canada from US today - yes, a few hours back! Just getting restless not hearing anything from my recruiter!!!
Hi Jughead
