Hi friends,
I read several posts on this topic and the article too. It seems there are no fixed rules for getting visitor visa of parents.
We came to Canada in May 2004 and both me and my husband started upgrading ourselves. I have now got my certificate to teach in Ontario and am tutoring students at home. My husbandwas doing a weekend job since December and recently has got a job in his own field on contract. Our parents our retired and have sufficient funds and property in India. My husband has a sister in India too. They are very much interested in visiting us in summer this year. We are still living in a rented basement and can provide telephone bill as proof of residence.
I have forwarded necessary papers as mentioned in the article to support the visa application of our parents. Can anyone suggest whether our case has sufficient merit. I had also gone through the New Delhi website and as per their suggestion, we are applying for single entry visa only. My inlaws undertook travel to UK in 1988 and have some other visas too in their old passport. In their new passport that was issued only last year, they do not have any visas. Should they attach their old passports too.
Please discuss their probability of getting visa.

Hi
as such criteria etc. are hard to understand from the prespective of Immigration official.
One thing I would really advise to ur parents is when they go for the visa, they should keep one thing in mind that "THEY HAVE NO INTENTION TO STAY PERMANENTLY IN CANADA EXCEPT FOR THE DURATION OF VISA AND CARRY PAPERS LIKE PROPERTY ETC WHICH SHOWS THEY HAVE LINKS AND "REASONS" TO COME BACK TO INDIA"
This is what most immigration officials want to hear and know from the person applying specially for visitor's visa
Regards
Jatan

...We have said in the reason that they want to visit their daughter/son-in-law for a short visit. we did not put pregnancy as for 5 people (desi's) working in my wife's office , the sponser visitor's visa was refused since they put this cause and so people in my wife's office advised us against putting pregnancy as a reason for their visit....
