Already in some Canadian/US hospitals, there are no films produced for CT scan, MRI, and ultrasound. Everything is on computer and one has to request a CD to burnt if the ordering physican wants to see the images or has no access to hospital server. Regardless of that a report is typed for the radiologist.
So I do not understand how the technology will have a "major impact on medical transcription."
