Hi!

Is there any standard size for the curtains so that i can bring accordingly.
Otherwise i know it would be a very expensive affair to get it stiched over there in Canada.

What about the fabric? Is it expensive and how much is the stiching charges?

Curtains are really expensive here - it will be very difficult to say about standard sizes, but they can vary in sizes, so not advisable to bring anything before you see it.

You can check some of the on-line stores like homedepot or rona and check for all sizes.

I think you should be able to find the urls of above stores :)

It would be better to bring the material (if it fits in the allowable luggage weight) from your home country and get it stiched here after confirming the size. Otherwise, just like others, you will have to buy them here only.;)

Hello Anjana,

I feel that it would be best for you to first make a holiday trip to Canada for 2-3 weeks and see things for yourself. The questions that you are asking as so personal that you have to feel and see for yourself. Living in the middle east, I am sure it wont burn a hole in your pocket to visit here once rather than being sorry later. I did that myself way back in 1999 and an happy that I took that decision. I could recover the ticket cost just out of the savings I made on things I brought from Indonesia/Singapore.

By the way, you can declare as many things as you want to ship later - they allow you to ship those things duty free as long as they were declared on the first landing and also, on each shipment you have specifically told them what all has been brought in and what remains to be brought!

Hi Chandresh,
i really appreciate your advice but i think it will just be a waste of money and precious time to delay the permanent immigration by just making a landing.
