The customer service also unable to answer my question. yesterday I bought one vaseline from shoppers drug mart and noticed there is no expiry date/ date of manufature. just say imported by uniliver canada. i think it should be made in china. when I enqiured from customer service they could not answer my question. I am learning new things regarding ice cream…. . I thought I knew.
I browsed and found out that Breyer's ice cream, Light, Vanilla is from Uniliver Canada. Not sure if they have imported or made in Canada. I should have checked it out where and when it was made. I have sent an email to Uniliver enquiring about it. Not sure if they are going to respond.
BTW, do the stores like Loblaw or Walmart carry Baskin Robbins or Haagendaaz?

Too bad, tasty and healthy don't go together
This will help you bring clarity about Made in Canada label food regulation.
http://www.healthycanadians.ca/pr-rp/cfli-icepa_e.html
This regulation is effective Dec 31, 2008. But food products made using ingredients imported prior to this date will be in the market for long time.
Plus how Health Canada monitors the implementation of this regulation is going to be a question.
There are strict food laws in Canada but the mechanism to implement them is poor. Food products in ethnic markets is an example of how importers go around these regulations.
Reading ingredients declaration is a good habit. I always avoid food products if I see too many chemicals like sulfates, phosphates, modified ingredients, artificial colors and flavors in ingredient declaration.
