Have been seriously considering jobs in Dubai for some time now, even thought my process is very nearly through.

0% tax versus 53% tax is a HUGE differentiator!

I know these desi guys from UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain.
Some of the professions that they are in:
Chartered Accountants, Financial Advisors, Engineering Consultants, Petroleum engineers, Human Resources and Planning, etc.

All of them are with International firms or Oil Companies.

I myself is seriously thinking abt having a stinct in ME. My situation is a bit different (sorry, can't explain here). Nevertheless, with my work exp in USA and Canada, may be able to find something decent in ME. May be for 3-5 yrs. Then decide whether to come back to Canada or go back to desh.

Is there a visa reciprocity pact between Canada and UAE.....for visiting purposes of course?

If not, does one need a sponsor in UAE for a visitor visa?

Visitor visa does not need a sponsor, but from the info I have you can get one only for two weeks.

I have been to Dubai and most people do need a sponsor to visit Dubai....sopnor can be any of your relative's employer, any big 5 star hotel etc. People already working in middle east can get visa at Dubai airport without a sponsor provided their ID proves that they are engineers/doctors/managers or other elite professions. Canadian citizens and other european nationals can get visa at the airport without a sponsor......fee is 100 dirhams.....
Still you may wanna double check from their embassy as rules do change time to time, i have been there some 5 6 yrs back.
