Hi everybody..

I am putting forward our situation before migration..and please advice whether it will be a right move or wrong to migrate to canada.

We are in UAE right now. Our income in around 10000 Dhs/Month.(inclusive of rent)
Since last two years inflation in UAE is rising at alarming speed..
When we came to UAE in 2000 we used to save aroung 70% of our salary.
Now with the sharp hike in rent, petrol other commodities we are able to save hardly 1000/1500 per month. (I used to work previously..now I am not b'coz of small kid)
And even if I work we will save around 3000..

This situation is pushing me to think that it is better to leave this place at the earliest!!My Hubby is 43 and I am 37..with one 2 year old kid.
Even if we do survival jobs we will manage the kind of lifestyle we are living here..
Am I right or wrong...

If both of you do survival jobs, where will your child stay? Day-care in Canada is monthly around $600. In survival jobs you can earn around $2000 per month per person which after tax would work out to around $1400 to $1500.

You & your husband might have to work at different times to take care of your kid. Also many survival jobs require you to work in shifts which can change every day or every week. I believe having stayed in Gulf you would have a good amount of savings definitely which might help you to survive & lead a reasonable quality of life.

You might not be able to save though in the initial period & lead a quality of life equal to what you might be living in Gulf.

Be prepared to do survival jobs for atleast 2 years. After that you might get a good job or you might adjust to survival jobs.

What field are you in?

Rgds.

Rajan.

Thanks Rajan & ptm..
I am very well aware of the situation in Canada thr' CD.
My husband is QA Manager in food industry with 13 years of experience..he is M.Sc. Micro Biology.
And I am Post Graduate in Computer Management but currently I am housewife. I have worked in software field for 2-3 years on VB/ORacle and on client server platforms..

My husband is planning to upgrade himself in his field.
Actually we decided to migrate b'coz he has lot of scope in US as compared to India.
My child will also start going to school by the time we land in canada.
He will be 3 and half by that time. I think I can even support the family by staying at home..by doing baby sitting or teaching in school.

UAE is not as lucrative as it used to be..and there is no way you can enhance your career. I think if we sacrifice 1-2 years and get canadian qualification we will be able to make it..what do you think??

chinumama

you must believe in yourself....if u have applied for immingration then go ahead and ..migrate....its amazing you are finding yoursef in confusing situation ..now?...after going through tedious procedure in preparing your file? canada is a long term investment...UAE is a short term....u cant live forever in middle east....but canada gives you chance to settle there...is it not enough reason to migrate??

I agree with son-of-india's comments.
But before you move / migrate to Canada, you should have some initial savings with you which you can use until you settle down. You should be prepared with minimum 6 months to 1 year living costs in Canada.

Be positive always and good things will follow.
