I cant understand the 100000 and the bowling part.
Anyways
For a family
House - can range 3500 - 4500 most places you have to pay for 3 /6 momths together
What about house furniture ??? I think in the second hand mart you can buy everything for about 3000 Dhs(one time)
Kitchen appliances - 2000 (one time)
Grocery - 700 - 1200
Phone - cant comment we dont have a landline otherwise mobiles 165 Dhs for a connection and 28 dhs for every charge card.
Car - if u mean taxi 300 - 400
rental car / EMI of own car - starts at 1200 per month
Cable TV Evision (only desi + other regular channels provider ) basic plan 134 dhs/pm
I have a Broadband internet connection thats 190 Dhs/pm
Medical expenses with small children can shoot. For ex. I go the NMC which a good Indian hospital at par with the ones at home. ONe doctor visit for one child for lets say ear infection : Doctor fees 150 Dhs
Medicines can range bet'n 80-100 Dhs
And normally in a month there can be 2 visits I think
Entertainment including eating out - Can vary largely bet'n 400 - 700
School/ nursery - min 500 Dhs per month most places u have to pay for a term
there are other nurery related expenses i am not mentioning
On paper it looks fine with lots of savings but in reality if u can manage to save 2000 Dhs it is a superb effort.
Acc. to my understanding 2 kinds of expats from India who come to the UAE:
1. Come here with the idea of saving money to send home taking advantage of the tax free status which is now getting compensated for by the rising living costs.
2. Career growth move and also as a spring board to jump to any developed country
Both are great plans to get going in life as long as it works. And I hope it works for everybody.

Price rise much higher than expected - study

Dubai: Price rises have been much steeper than a team undertaking a study expected.
The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs carried out a study surveying prices of basic food items from 2001 to 2005.
Rashid Al Falasi, head of the Statistics Section at the ministry, told reporters at a press conference that price rises were much steeper than the team undertaking the study expected.

Those found guilty of increasing commodity prices will face a fine of Dh1,000 and would be served with a warning.
“From 2001 to 2005, basic food prices increased 3 per cent in some cases, and 25 per cent in others.”
Red meat increased 24.96 per cent in price, followed by sugar products, which rose 24.15 per cent.
Bread and rice rose 16.26 per cent while fish only rose 3.45 per cent.
Al Falasi said the September increase in petrol prices had also pushed prices up.
“We could measure the difference.”
The study showed after the petrol price rise, food products rose between 1 and 3 per cent immediately.
Al Falasi said he expected some food prices to increase by 35% by next year.
He did not say which food products he expected to rise the most in the coming year.
Al Falasi said he expected prices to rise briefly after November 1, when social security recipients relieved their increased payments.
President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan ordered a 75 per cent increase in the monthly payments on Monday.
“I expect traders will do what they did when government salaries were increased. They spiked prices and then reduced them again when they realised they were losing customers.”
Al Falasi said he expected any price increase to be brief. “The extra money is going to people who barely make ends meet, who only buy the basics.”

If you are planning to move to the UAE with your family of 3 or 4 then make sure you get an offer of atleast 10000 DHs per month anf hey you cant save too much maybe 1000 Dhs . .......................

Some schools are having creches attached to it . Some housewives give baby sitting at their condo or villa. working drop their kids there. The fee starts from Dhs. 300. Awesome to see that chinnumama has send their long awaited 2 year old kid to a creche of Dhs. 650/- and is sitting at home.

Survival jobs = $ 8 per hour
Even of you get full 40 hours a week ( which is a rarity for any agency employee in GTA ) you will get a $ 320 gross per week translating to $ 1280 gross per month. Even with $ 9 an hour ( which is a very good survival job salary ) you will gross only $ 1440 a month ( of course if you get the full hours )
To gross $ 2000 pm you have to earn at the rate of $ 12.50 per hour which definitely not a survival job salaryin Canada.
Even if you get full hours in an agency survival job, will you be able to handle it. Meaning lifting non stop or doing jobs on the line at a very fast speed ( while standing with safety shoes of course) ...
Will you handle it ?
