I am referring to a recent post where the Desi re-counted a successful immigration to Indonesia. I have had this discussion with a friend of mine who thought he was successfully immigrated to UAE.

My point was simple - Are you really an immigrant (successful or otherwise) if you can never become a citizen? Are you an immigrant if you constantly have to convince an immigration officer not to deport you? Are you really an immigrant in country if you have no say in what happens in the country of your residence?
Isn't that like a visitor with a work visa?
