Thanks.

For the very simple reason that they have already got laid off and are collecting EI which these days is coming for 50 weeks. EI is just 55% of the last drawn income subject to a cap and that is why people like to suppliment their income during difficult times.
Also I have noted that areas around colleges / universities (like Local Pizza shops, Convenience stores, not famous petrol stations etc..) hire foreign students for like $ 6 an hour. The reason why foreign students work for such low rate is that :
1. They are not legally allowed to work in Canada for more than a limited set of hours.
2. Employment is hard to come by.

This is reality.

TK,

SsssssssssssssssHhhhhhhhhhhhhh! TK why are you revealing the Top Secret of Canada.

Do not waste your time complaining to your local MP or MPP. Remember Ms.Ruby Dhalla ?.

Everybody knows and acts as if it doesnot exist.

The worst is the guys in Feds and Provincial govt who should be asking questions but who do not do their job.

Take this case of a gentleman in Central Mississauga. His wife was injured in an workplace accident and is on workcomp. She also gets lots of provincial assistance. The husband gets a job and gets laid off exactly after 960 hours. He then takes a 11 bucks cash job and keeps working until he can get the last dollar. He then goes back to regular job for his 960 hours. Guess What both the jobs are organized by the same EMPLOYMENT agency.

He has a three bedroom apartment on Dundas, has 2 cars and recently bought an used Porsche for his sons 18th birthday.

Don't you think the MANGO IDIOTS in the IRS or Tax department or the Social department in FED's would ask a question of how are you able to maintain a swanky apartment on Dundas or maintain 2 cars or buy an used Porsche for your son?.

Nope they'll give this family more money to spend and keep the economy bubbling.

The problem with some of us South Asians is that we have False Pride that we will not take Social Assistance or other benefits from the Government.

No offence but the best guys whom you should Consult for this SCAM or some Gujjus and some guys from our Neighbouring country. They can write books on how to navigate the Canadian Welfare System.

The strategy is that if you cannot beat them then join them.

Once again SSSSSssssssssssssssssHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhh! do not reveal this dirty little secret as we with our foolish pride will die hungry while others will make several trips to India, buy fancy stuff from the Fashion outlet mall in Buffalo or even go on vacation to Las Vegas while you and I will bust our butt out pay the taxes the GST, PST, HST , TST and all the ST's to death to keep this priviliged Canadians happy.
