I want to send some cell phone instruments to India..so does any one has info if which modles will work there and which will not or what features in prticular will work there and what not??
would appriciat any info on this

Why would you want to send mobile phones from here when you get much better models of Nokia and Sony-Ericsson in India? I consider the Canadian mobile phone industry much backward compared to the Indian one. Go the Nokia India site and see the difference for yourself.

Yeah, the selection is pretty much as good as anything you get in Europe and probably far better than North America.

The prices are also pretty competitive.

Which are the most popular Nokia models in Canada

1. Basic cell phone (like 3100 / 1100 )
2. Triband (like 6610)

I was wondering whether 2 buy a tri band phone from here the Middle East or get my GSM phone alone and buy a single band phone which is popular there in Canada itself. Please advise .

Better buy a GSM triband phone which you can use always and anywhere in the world.
Remember if you leave your phone uncharged for longer periods of time, chances are that you might need to buy a new battery, the next time you decide to use your old phone. Additionally, mobile phones lose their resale value pretty quick. So if you are not going to use it for an year or so, get rid of it.
