Want some advice on phone cards/calling cards
I dont care much about the voice quality...OK is good..dont need to be excellent
I dont want a one time card...my usage is like 1-5 mins per call.

I know of comwave/G3/Reliance..
Are there any other that i have missed...
Which is the cheapest way to call a phone in India?

try :
Pheonix- best card for 1 or 2 mins. calls. can be used for USA too. A $5 card retails for 4.25 in mississauga.
For longer duration calls try :
Red bull. A $2.50 card retails for $2.20 in mississauga and i can get 20 minutes straight to Tamilnadu. It was better before but now if i cut the call midway, then i lose 50 cents or so and i canot make international calls if the balance falls below 54 cents.

...our own reliance due to 'reliability' and 'accountability'. For the initial 2 months of landing we tried over 10 different calling cards, none gave FULL value for money. Have been satisified with reliance for almost 1 year, though the rate is slightly higher.

Here is an information for all >>>>>

I am not sure how many of you are aware of this, but in US many of my freinds are using this new communication method to be in touch with their families and freinds on a dialy basis.

And it is ....

If your family / freinds are living in the Cities and urban areas, then they can call you at any time for as little as Rs. 1.50 to Rs. 2.00 per minute to call to US ( not sure of the pricing to Canada).

I know that this pretty much available in all Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai, Ahemadabad, Pune and so on... the list is increasing / growing day by day.

also Now a days there are several internet cafes, and private telephone booths, offering this service.

And with this almost everyday your loved ones can call and chat with you since a call for even 30 mintes is just arond than Rs.50 / -.

All this is the gift of NET telephony or VOIP. and since it is made legal now the demand is growing.

And I am sure NOTHING can be cheaper than this. and imagine the ease, convinience and the reach.

So you might want to explore on this front.

Thoughts ????

For my money, its hands-down Reliance as the best. However our India calling is now extremely rare as all our relatives have PC's and we talk on yahoo, MSN and google talk, all of which are free.
