Even though can buy ATA from market and get configuration file from them for $50 but there is a downside to it. It will be a little more hassle because they give very limited technical support, buying ATA from outside just gives them one more reason. You can turn off your computers and it will still work as long as the ATA and internet modem are on.

Magicjack usually runs from your computer,so you will need to keep your computer on. If you want a Canadian number, it will cost you more. I believe you can get ATAs to work with them but it is not straightforward and it is against their terms of service to use ATAs.

Agreed, unless you're technically inclined.

You can do the same with MJ, put in an ATA. There are tons of MJ forums online with discussions on how to do this.

If you guys search then you will find that few CDs are already using this since last few years and they are happy with the service.

I have started using this since last 4 months and I am happy too of course if you get this service hoping to get landline quality and reliability then you might be disappointed but for free , this service is very good.

If you are not a kind of guy who likes to get his hands dirty then get their package which includes ATA but if you are techie then you can buy Linksys ATA and you can configure lot of options such as multiple SIP providers on one ATA , You can dial in to your ATA and dial out etc etc

Thanks hopesrforever27 for sharing your first hand experience,

Is it easy to install device and configuration file on computer or not? I already ordered the device and i got a configuration file on my e-mail account right away after i paid through Credit Card.

Honestly i do not have too much technical knowledge about computer.

If you don't mind, would you pls share your experience about all this. so it can help another CD on this forum as well.

Thanks

Easiest thing is to call their tech support as you have bought whole package from them hence they will support it. Their tech support is not that bad.
