I came to Canada as a student, then i got a post-grad work permit, now my work permit is expiring in May this year.

1. How can I get an H1B visa, and how soon should i apply

2. Are there any desi consultant companies, that are reliable

3. Is is worth paying extra for express processing, and any idea how much it's going to cost

4. What are my chances of getting H1B, if i have a 3 year degree in computers from india, a 1 yr PG diploma in business from Toronto, 2 yrs workex (marketing) in india and 15 months as Personal banker in Canada

Your case is complicated.

As you would have learnt the H-1B visas quota has been reached on the 17th January 2006. The new visas of 65,000 will be available 1st October 2006. The applications will be accepted starting 1st April 2006.

Your work permit will be expiring in May 2006. Hence you would have a gap of May to October 2006. Hence even if your H-1B application will be accepted you would need consular stamping and hence you would need to go to your country of citizenship.
