I have an Indonsian girlfriend who was going to visit me in the spring. However her Temporary Resident Visa (TRV) was denied for the following reason:
"You have not satisfied me that you meet the requirement of
Regulation 179: that you would leave Canada at the end of temporary
period if you were authorized to stay. In reaching this decision I
considered your ties to your country of residence balanced against
factors which might motivate you to stay in Canada."
How can we find out what we can do to meetthis requirement? What else can we do to increase her chances? I guess marriage would help but didn't want to marry her just so she could visit.
Thanks,
Peter
marriage woude worsen the condition. then she would have all reosons not to leave cnanda. you need to provide proof that she has strong roots in Indonesia that will make her return . For that you could provide
1. job: letter from her employer that she has a good job to come back to
2. property papers: if she owns property or business
3. family: strong ties that keep her in Indonesia
4. if she had a spouse or chihld in indonesia.
best of luck
Thanks for your suggestions.
She's a chartered public accountant in Indonesia however she doesn't have a fulltime job - she does contract work. I'll have her show her professional status and any upcoming contracts she has. She does have a lot of money invested in Indonesia - I'll have her provide information on that too. She doesn't have a spouse (he'd probably be upset aboutme ) nor any children. She does have family but she has let immigration know about them already.
I was thinking if I married her she could apply to immigrate to Canada permamently as a spouse. A bit much for just a visit though.
if she is a CA. then she should have no problem as long as she shows enough proof from her company. you dont have to marry her. that will complicate matters. because that will show her intension to settle in Canada. I remember when we used to go for a visa for US we would take a pile of papers.
best of luck
