Coming to Calgary in the next few weeks from US on a work permit.
I am currently on a H1B visa in the US.
Have few questions...
1. Getting the car....Previous posts indicate that I do not need to Register my Car in Canada as I would be coming on a work permit. Do I still need to inform US customs at the time of going out?
2. On a work permit can I work as a self-employed person in Canada?

If you plan on living in Canada, you need to import/register your car with your province. You can't technically drive around a US plated car. The rules are pretty similar to moving from one US state to another where you are required to switch plates to that state.
