Hi,
I am working in canada under Post graduate work permit program and my permit is going to expire in march 09. I am in IT and I cannot extend my Post Graduate work permit. I called cic people and they told me that i have to apply for a new work permit. The cic website says that as an IT worker, I do not require a positive Labour market opinion from HRDC , so if any one knows about the procedure or have undergone through it then please let me know. Also the duration for the entire process and the documents required for this process.
Thanks,
Ajay
get a job offer, and ask the new employer to apply for a work permit, some categories of IT are HRDC exempted, Note: Without a job offer letter, you cannot apply for work permit, the processing times are usually 2 months. In Canada many employers are hesitant to do work permits as it involves lot of paperwork, they prefer landed/pr candidates
