Another partial Myth (except for IT). Will explain later as i have no time now

Of course, even after being ‘overloaded’ with work, we’re able to find the time to make this post at 11.30 am on a work day…..

Now, why would a nice, honourable man from Tamil Nadu, be making calls to a 1-900 number? ;)

This is not true. The Airports donot even have information booths open at all time. Imagine that you are an illitrate from papanayakanpalayam, TN. Your cousin from Bombay has told you that you will get a good job at the Bombay and that he will meet you in the railway station and settle you. So armed with Rs. 1000 you go to bombay. You cousin never shows up and you donot have his address nor do you know Hindi. You will be at the exact situation upon landing in Canada.

A welcome can come in many forms. The Vancouver airport provides a welcome package to all newcomers and it tells them about services for employment and settlement etc.

2. Can survive in One salary :

Are you a (say a Teacher,Architect, Accountant, Marketing manager etc..) with a wife who has never worked and have 2 children under 5. Your chances of surviving in Canada on one salary is very less.

Depends on your budget.

3. Canada is the best place for children to live :

Another Myth. Will explain later as i have no time now

Are you worried about debates and rebuttals to your views? :D

5. EI and CPP will keep you rich for ever

Another partial Myth. Will explain later as i have no time now

Call it a TOTAL myth. EI doesnt last forever and is generally 55% of your previous salary. CPP is a pension given to an individual basedon ur contributions usually after age 65. Its usually not a huge amount.

7. You can bring your parents to Canada under an immigration program

Another Partial Myth. Will explain later as i have no time now

Depends on ur income.

11. That Canadians donot get offended for little things
Candians can get angry for little things and can call the police for trifle things. Also they expect you to use the words "Sorry", Please, excuse me etc.. for what those words are intended.

Define "Trifle" :D I think the manners point has already been brought up

12. That Canadians are fully dressed up in summer

Sorry but No. Be careful when you are with your children/ parents.

Also be careful before allowing your kids to watch tv, movies, see magazines, books or any media including the internet. If possible keep them in a box so that when they go out in the real world they have no way of deciding for themselves what their moral compass is.

As for parents... dont let them see anyone dressed sexily or else they will want to do crazy things like wear sleeveless shirts and shorts and *gasp* have sex in their old age. Imagine! it might kill them ...

13. That coffee is served at your desk, Garbage is taken by peon

Sorry. No

TK u are the only person I have ever spoken with here who has ever expected this. Sorry.

Your point 12. really irks me. Do you ever see bollywood movies? Do you see the way they sexualize women ? Mountains of switzerland and the heroine is clad in choli tops where the hero is fully covered.

Thats india. Most hollywood movies these days have little or no sex. shown

TK: there is a saying that if you go out of ur way to avoid seeing summer clothing (shorts and bikinis for example) on women, then you are constantly seeing them in ur mind. Because you are trying so hard to avoid them your practically meditating on them.

Food for thought.

Maybe even calling 1900 numbers to talk to them...if only for language lessons.

Maybe those women SHOULD be giving language lessons. French...maybe:p

MR,
I was not trying to justify anything.
I am a tamilian and i would feel very embarssed if i went out with my parents or child and see the people dressed up in a very obscene way (luckily none of the above mentioned family members are with me in Canada). This is all that i expressed. What is wrong in that. if it offends any Canadians let them cover up or bring some ice on the streets in the summer.
In India , i think that these obscene films are shown in an enclosed theatre and you pay to see this. Here it is a free show. I Canot even go out with my senior Tamil friends b'cos people are dressed in a very skimpy way. It embarasses me only in front of other tamil friends.
Even in my office some European females are dressed in a very obscene way but i donot care since i am alone.
My original point was that you could be embarrssed if you are in Canada in summer and you go out with your parents and or children. I should have added and you are a tamilian. my mistake . Sorry.
TK
