Again i state, i donot care if Canadians will be skimpily dressed b'cos the Canadian law allows it and i respect that. My point is only that Tamils would be embarressed if they see all this with their family members.

Do you really think that canada's culture is so perverse ? I have been a student in canada, I have been a person who has enjoyed night life in canada and I am also a person who has lived most of his life in India. AND NEVER, have I been embarassed by somebody else wearing skimpy clothes. And for that matter I would say that I have seen very few girls actually wearing really skimpy clothes. Now if you think wearing skirts which do not cover your knees is skimpy then :( Also have you seen bollywood movies lately. Leave alone movies, have you seen the recent shows on indian TV.

Also I am so fed-up of ppl saying that canada's education system for kids is bad. Remember the education system is public in canada and compare that to other country's public education system. You say drugs, sex is so common in schools. First of all, what are you basing this fact on? Where is the actual study that compares the drug usage in canadian school to drug usage in indian schools. PLS, guys stop dissing canada's education system. Give me facts.
second of all, what image of indian schools do you have in your mind ? Go to new delhi, mumbai, chennai and see with your own eyes what Honourable INDIAN STUDENTS are doing in their schools. compare US public school system in general with canadian school system. Kids in many school in india smoke a lot and even do drugs.

Also stop saying that canada's health system is bad. It might have its drawbacks, it does need some improvements but can a poor person in india get any kind of surgery. Let alone india, what about US? Search a bit more on the insurance cost in US and then decide what is more expensive. (by the way, medicine/drugs are cheaper in canada than in US).

Yes, US does hold a better life for professionals but the reason for that is that people who immigrate to USA based on their skills and work experience are usually working in US on H1B visas. So once you have been working in that country and have the work experience from that country, chances are that after immigration you will be more successful over there. Want to compare the success rate of proffessionals then compare success rate of ppl who came to canada on HRDC approved jobs and then got their immigration.

Canada does have its drawbacks, it does have racism but if you really think its worse than US, go down to texas and mid-western states and you will realise the level of racism down there. Also, if you want to stop racism then stop being a racist yourself. racism happens in many ways. Targeting all 'Goras' as immorals and the 'gori' women as '!@#$' is a form of racism also.

Totally agree with the last sentence there.

And hey, I teach in a school in a small city in India. Trust me, the kids today in India too are WAY different from the way we used to be. Did you not read about the mms scandal that rocked India? The children involved were 3 students from DPS R.K.Puram, a school reputed as the best among the many DPS in our country.

And you would feel sick if you read about some of the scandalous teachers' behaviour that have been reported from the schools in small towns of India. Many more go un-reported.

If you ever do some social service involving children in India, you will have an idea as to the level of perversity that exists in India too.

So let's not knock one specific country, at least on this front.

Hi diamond,

I totally agree with you. I have seen student in indian schools doing stuff in grade 5 itself that we would not have even dared do till grade 10 or so. Students and life has changed a lot in india.
And you might hear more case of child molestation in the western world, but it does not mean that if we do not hear of that many cases in india, that its not happening. I would like to advise ppl to read on the life of road children in india.
I am not trying to put INDIA down. I love my country but the first step towards demanding equality is to realise that all of the culture have drawbacks (depending which side you look at it from).
