How Important is it to provide details of family memeber who had applied for VISA in the TRV forms , in case the same is not privided , do the CIC in Delhi track back.

My application for PR is in the final stages (Awaiting Passports) , my brother would be applying for a student visa & is required to mention if any family memebers have ever applied for a Canadain Visa.......
