A lot has been discussed about TN Visa in this thread which is very helpful. Just wanted to know the life in US after a person is on TN Visa. I request people to input their experiences who are in US on TN Visa, especially those through consultants. Thank you very much.
life is pretty much the same as in canada.
1) Here are easy things : Bank account , depending on your income renting a apartment.
2) Here is the challenge or time consumming part.
get a ssa number it took me 6 weeks. so you cannot get a credit card , land line or cable television atleast from comcast in the bay area. buy a car, especially since you have no credit history the apr is as high as 15%
apart from that weather.
coming from canada weather and food in the bay area sfo is great ....

(APR is as high as 15%)...I don't understand, Can you elaborate? Is SSA no. mandatory to buy a car?
-- SSN is required not to buy the car, but to finance it (to get a loan). If you are paying cash, then it is not required.
