It would be hard to justify your claims. How do we know that you are not a competitor of that company and trying to defame it?

You need to detail out what happened and how he cheated you of the money.
Just blanket statements and a general idea of what happened does not give the reader the complete picture as to how you were cheated?
A general list would be :
What did he promise to do?
How much money did he take ?
Did he fail to appear in court / fail to file a claim?
Did your phone calls go unanswered ?
What was the progress in the case?
Every time that you met him, what promises did he give ?
How did you feel that you were cheated?
If someone was undergoing the same situation or planning to hire an immigration lawyer for the same circumstances, then he/she would PM you and you could divulge the name of the lawyer/ practice.

Here is the story.
About 3 years ago, we went to see ******* of ***** to bring my brother from India. He said that he will process his application on the base of student visa so he needs 5000 dollars for the college fee. In case, if his application is rejected, he will return all of the money.
So we gave him 5000 dollars and then first of all his offices in India prepared him for the interview very badly. My brother visited number of times to his office in Baroda and it looked like they didn't know what they were doing.
When he didn't get the visa, we asked for money back. So he gave as 5000 dollars cheque, which bounced. And after then we must have called him 100 times and everytime he promised to give us money within a week. Till date we haven't see any money back from him.
And looks like we will never get the money back !

Hello!
Did you sign a contract in which he promised to return the $5000 if the student visa was rejected? (He must have otherwise,he would not have cared to write a $5,000 cheque).
If you have such a contact and then have the bouncing of the cheque , then file a police complaint. They will advise you of further details.
There is also the small claims court in which you can seek justice. Since it involves big money, the fees for the small courts claim will be insignificant.
However it is a dire warning for all those people who go through inexperienced agents who promise them student visa's and either fail to deliver or get them admission in unrecogonised courses/colleges and the student is in dire straits after finishing the course. We have had the experience of the latter by a student a few days ago.
Just for the record, I know a person who applied for a university in USA and was rejected by USA immigration agents. So he took the next best choice-Canada-With its location close to USa and a strong fiscal situation. The college that he got was a very bad one and he had to work illegally for 10 hrs. a day to keep himself going ( at $8 an hour). In his work place -run by a gujju- only 2 samosa's are free per shift.Working 7 daysa week and studying 5 days a week took the toll on his body. He now says that he he was better off in India.

Unfortunately, there was no written contract. But we have bounced cheque to prove that he was supposed to give us the money back.
Going to small court will take years to recover money. I want to get more people like me who are victim of ***** of ***** to contact me, so we can do big lawsuit against him.
