I moved here from mumbai and want to know how many of you moved from bombay and what they miss about the great city.

Lets start discussing what we miss about mumbai......

the smell of the sea.
the vada pavs
the chai cuttings
the bombay chinese food
the smell of the monsoon
the smell of diwali at 5 am
strangely..the auto-rickshaws
to an extent the familiar bambia hindi.

thats it for now

Not a bad topic, but personally I feel this might not be the right place to discuss it for :

1. those not from Mumbai will be left out - which means this will specially cater to one segment of the membership.

2. Others not from Mumbai might want to start similar topics for Madra, Calcutta, Dilli, Punjab, Amritsar, jaipur etc. etc. etc.

3. What we do not have we always miss and find it better than what we have - so such topic will raise issues about what was good in Mumbai and bad here. Our aim in this site is to help people adapt themselves to Canadian life, not to discuss what we miss here.

4. Such a topic will in no way serve the purpose of this site which is basically to help each other in the community - so why do something which can be done in your living room?

My opinion.......the rest ofcourse depends on Mumbaites!

hey...people talk in gujrati all the time...what about the non gujju folk...theres an entire thread on the same. And about the Baroda/jamnagar...dont remember exactly... thread.
Its all good once in a while. Also encourages more people to take the step to make the first post. I'm ok with it as long as we have more of the 3000 members being active.

i have the solution..move it to 'back home' section! OR better...the 'HAVE FUN' section
