You can see by the replies of people that some things are beyond certain individuals. Those that can relate to such people are probably going down the same path that these individuals invariably find themselves in time and time again. Their whole life (documented here for convenience) seems to be full of missteps and misadventure(including, but not limited to, rummaging for leftoversand recycling timhortons tissues for toilet paper). Is this really the kind of person to be guiding a newcomer? And to what ends? Inorder to model their lives after that of the same said individual? What is beyond me is that people who are miserable with their existence are so keen to dispense their views as the truth. Dont they draw the relation between theie unhappy lives and their thought process? What exactly is the benefit to the newcomer when such thoughts are regularly expressed on the site? Is this the reflection of the desi community that we want to provide to visitors to the site?
At this rate, soon this site will be the knowledge base for those whose greatest motivation in life are free cookies and sweets.

These were general comments. I had put a Disclaimer that exceptions to a great extent will be there. Could also show the new comer as to why people of the above community are well adjusted to Canada than Desi's.
When a person of another community calls another person belonging to a different community comments like :
"Go back to your country"
"You 'masala' smelling P*g"
"Your office cabin is stinking. Open the Window. This is not Mumbai or Manila"- Told to me by my boss in Saudi.(only the last sentence)
etc...
Then these are Racist comments !

I guess each has hiw own discretion and experiences to relate to the newcomers and who are we to question their rights . Lets restrict to giving our own advice rather than being judgmental on others.
What I consider to be right may be wrong for you and likewise vice versa . Now that doesnt mean I over step your stance or you do that to others.After all Canda is a free country and everyone has a right to express themselves. Just because some ppl cite the cookies doesnt undermine the invaluable contributions made by the respective members .
I am still to figure out why many threads digress from the main issue.I guess its probably because some posters or is that all of us - think ourselves to be superior to others .
I really wish to add if we can be more courteous and polite by allowing each to express his own point it would be a better forum.Rather than repeating threads as becoming argumentative ...... Its happned before and it recurs ..Hope some of us can better ourselves.

relax. I dont want to get into an argument with you. You are free to follow TK and agree wholeheartedly with him.
Have you actually read TK's other advice including the ikea left over, free cookie grabbing at garage sales etc? If you sincerely think thats the kind of crap to be recycled here you are welcome to it.

Donot worry about that individual (and some others will follow soon). This just reflects him as an example of the concept expressed in this thread.
When there is no more concrete points that he can make/ relevant arguments , then he uses IKEA, Free cookeis (and possibly Haloween, 1-900) as an oulet to express his inability to prove that he is superior. This individual has to make an end point/ statement. We also know what happened to DTC as a result of this Individual's mindset.
As my mum used to say " Distance yourself from the evil one "- Thustanai kandal thoora vilagiu- Tamil.
Let me follow it whenever i find evil.
