This is a very helpful site. So, plz need your advice.

I am currently in Toronto on a study permit having admission in pvt college. My visa expires in Nov'2007. But I have heard that study permit extensions are getting delayed. I dont know if its only specific to private colleges. I intend to enrol in a private college and try to get an extension of atleast 2 years, so that I can file for my PR and have sufficient time for the processing.

Can anyone please tell me if this study permit delay thing is common?

2. Also, what precautions should I take to ensure success of study permit extension? Any universal suggestions plz?

Plz let me know, people as I am depending heavily on u guys. Cant afford a lawyer nor an admission in a community college.

-- Try to get a offer letter from a community college and after that tranfered to a private college.

And yes student visa are delays too much.

they are overall gettin delayed...
brother applied in lorential univ..he got it after 8 months..
so even it is private or comm college..extensions are delayed by atleast 5 months...
