I have observed that some desis are pushing this too far. I know few of them where the house is full of stuff, Buddha, animals, etc all over. Even to keep a cup on the table is difficult as the table is full of feng shui stuff. Looks like they want everything at the same time, right now.
My knowledge of feng shui is zero. As I am told its the flow of energy. Wouldn't the energies clash if its too much in the house?
I won't build a opinion based on zero knowledge. Looks like you are skeptical about the results. Well, in that case I suggest you get a book from public library (thing one with basics) study and see it yourself.
It has similarities with Vaastu. It is certainly not about getting things right now. Not entirely sure what can be catagorized as an overkill. It is inidividual preference and faith.

I don't know anything about Feng Shui either.
I don't know how Folw of Energy will work ... but by keeping all those stuff everywhere makes house owner feel Good & Happy then I think objective is achieved.

You know you are a desi when ........ You spew forth the virtues of India, but don't want to live there...............You've never had a tanning salon membership
I care less abt it. It’s fine with me if it is individual preference and faith. As long as it is not awkward for others, I mean guests, its ok. These folks don’t want any kids visiting them because they think that the kids may move things and the “energy flow” would be affected. They have trained their kids not to touch anything. It’s like hopscotch at their home while walking.
If they feel good and happy that’s fine. Well, that’s not the case unfortunately. IMO, these are just a sideshow or a distraction to keep away from the real problems/issues.
IMO they cant change their fate/destiny by keeping things on the table or floor. What has to happen will happ
DIO
Well, personally I would not go where kids are not welcome.
