What neighbors are you talking about? I stated PREFERENCE for neighbors. I have no Indian/Sri Lankan neighbors. Do you ever try to understand before replying? Don't be such a simpleton hiding behind your language....
"Vandharai Vazhavaikkum Tamizhagame, Unnai Pazhippadha"
(Translates: Gives livelihood to anybody who comes , Oh Tamil Nadu how can somebody scorn you!)
Tamizh paesinaal thaan vaazhavaikkum. Illai enil unnai veratti vidum.
(Translates: Gives livelihood to those who speak Tamil , otherwise chases you out!)
And DON'T use any language other than English on boards like this. It is discourteous to people who don't speak that language.
"And you think you know about Tamils"
Yup..Very well indeed. I studied in Chennai for four years and worked there for three more. I have spent five years in Toronto and I make it a point to do business at Sri Lankan establishments. Six of my coworkers are Indian Tamils.

Well if it so, how come Madras and other cities have big number of Marvaris, Malayalees, Andhras (Business men / Professionals ) etc., etc successfully excelling., and how come you studied there, worked there... Doesn't this answer your concern.
Was there any protest to chase the fellow Indians as it happens in Mumbai or Bangalore. (Well unlike you I strongly disbelieve such initiatives represent the local community instead the polarizing politicians).

OK, I understand this but tell me is it courteous to
1. say that you choose to do business with Sri Lankan Tamil only.
2. write about your preferences that eventually defames some which you will fail miserably any how.
3. Generalize people with caste, education and economical status.
And you do not know that it is the educational, economical prosperity of Tamils in Sri Lanka that became the catalyst for the oppression they are going through in Sri Lanka.

Well, well well, Now I get it, No need to comprehend further.

hi to everyone..here..
i want to know y don't lankan tamils respect and put down indian tamils...even..they use to call indian tamils "VADAKAN"..vadakan..is a specific word for calling them...can u answer me?
they also dont get married to them....
In my experience, I have found that the Sri Lankan Tamils respect Indian Tamils a lot. May be it is because of inferiority complex or may be due to the Tamil movie craze of the Sri lankan Tamils.
I have also noticed / and heard that the tamils of Malaysia, South Africa and Guyana have a lot of respect for the Indian tamils.
Vadakkan may be derived from the word "Vadakku" which might be meaning North or West , implying that they come from Tamil Nadu. If anything, It is to be taken as a compliment. In some rare cases may be you might have had the bad experience from Sri Lankan tamils who are in Canada and who used to be Rowdy's back in Sri Lanka and hence very rough.
Hope this clears your predicament.
