Have you ever thought that the other Desi's might think of the same about you? And more over it still beats me why you want desi's in the forum to discuss while the person doesn't like Desis.

I really like to know how many desis are seriously lined up begging for your friendship. :) :)

I once wrote I am quite skeptical about networking done here. I still feel the same. Networking setup purely for the sake of personal interest won't hold long. It should happen naturally.

Dear All,

I would not like to get involved in the debate about TK here, but let me endorse one fact and I am sure many of you might have felt it, that there is a certain amount of in-security/competition in the air, when more then one desi is performing for one task in CANADA. Although I do not have a real experience in a JOB environment as I am self-employed, but I have seen that in so many such DESI-DESI dealings.

I think this was the message, TK was trying to convey. However let me mention the other side of the fact also, that a DESI becomes the immediate support factor (At least I follow that feeling and try to be standing besides a DESI not front of him, when he/she is looking for help) to another DESI in need.

So, all in all it depends and after all we are the most happening CREATURE on the planet and hence such things would always happen again and again...

Regards,

VJ.

And how much does "skepticism" help with networking do you think?

I have met a few families from canadiandesi, always open to the possibility that you never know until you meet and greet. Don't get along? Fine. Not everyone HAS TO BE friends with everybody. Not everyone CAN BE friends with everybody.

There are some threads here that talk about going out in the summer for a hike etc etc. They are not based any vested interests other than some fun which everyone likes to have. What's keeping you away from those? Skepticism? You should try and join in...:)

Networking/creating own circle all that stuff is wastage of time and energy.
Mostly networking ends up eating rice and roti at each other home on weekends. It's better to do some hiking, horse riding, get out with family for fun, traveling and other creative stuff.

If you are good in your job and technology then you can get job anywhere. Networking can just forward resume. That can be done by yourself too if job is available on-line, websites and recruiters.
