Hi group

I noticed a strange problem with my car A/C and am not sure if this is a common problem or not. Whenever I turn my car A/C , for the first few seconds it blows some reallly stinky air and then it becomes ok. Initially I thought may be there is something dead inside the hood. But i checked inside thoroughly and found nothing. I took it ot a mechanic and he asked me for $140 to take a look at it. I am not sure if any of you face this problem and if so, how did you fix it.

what kind of car is it. my brother had same problem in his Impala (used) and when we went to dealer they asked 100 bucks to look for but when we took car to desi mechanic he said it was dirty filter for cabin air. took 5 mins to get rid of it.
coolcola got very gud point. also you can try some kind of air freshner in your car.
