Hello Friends,

This is kind of reverse flow; as normally people ask here about accomodations in Canada. Well, I am going to Delhi for 3-4 days. Can someone suggest good hotels/ places to stay, with in 100 USd per day.

Which part of Delhi would you prefer to stay ...... with this budget Karol Bagh area would be the best bet ....
There are some very nice new hotels in Gurgaon also. They are close to the airport, but then it depends the area you would like to stay in.

I could not find the link but I have read about this and seen the website before where people share their homes free of cost.

It's kind of program that Bloggers offer to each other

the name of the program was something like "share extra bed" . there was a list of all people who would welcome you in their home like a guest. No need to pay but most of the time people give gifts to them (not mandatory). try finding that... It's available in every city.

I'll try to find it too. right now I am in a hurry!

Hi Friends,

Thanks for the information. We (3) will be on business trip and sorry I forgot to mention the area where I am looking for hotel. This could be (around 10-12 KM of) either airport or Connaught Place. I looked reviews of people on many sites (Trip Adviser, Yahoo and others); almost each has very bad experience with Delhi hotels. For rooms up to 300-400 dollars or even more, the comments are; very un-clean, full of insects, a big loot and worse than these. People found the top ones, in the range of 600-700 dollars a day, just so so and OK. My budget is 200 max.

Supposedly this theme of ‘Couch Sharing’ is based upon “Help Each Other”. So if someone is looking to be a guest of someone, s(h)e is offering to be host of some others. Money spent (read wasted here) can be used in much better directions, to give nice gifts or throwing a nicer party to host. Great concept and more suited to travelers. I seek a bit business environment this time.

Hotel Siddhartha in Rajendra Nagar...5-10 minutes from Cannaught Place and 2 minutes from Karol Bagh. The online rate says $250 but if you call directly and ask for one of the managers and for discount...may be you can get something (say-$175-$185 rate). It has excellent ambience. It's hard to find anything in range of $100 around that area. Other choices are Hotel Vikram (I've seen it...its nice too) (but don’t know there rate...it wasn't available online).

Asking for discounts is no problem...our recent visit to Toronto Hotel Chelsea accommodated us with good discounts (but it was off season-May), if Toronto can accommodate then India too (where people are more hospitable and eager in customer services). Try one never knows.

Jona
