I wanted to reach out for any experiences of CD's with Canadian PR who have tried to enter and/or move to Canada after violating the 2 in 5 yr residency reqt.
I know what the official ruiles are but I am trying to gauge how strictly they are enforced in reality.
I also know that they have to let you in to the country while you appeal their decision. However what are the chances of you winning the appeal ?
Also any good lawyers CD's can recommend who specialize in this ?
Thanks
There are many who violated and managed to get in, but nobody will reveal this in public!

They will not reveal anything because they have nothing to reveal. The gov't is VERY strict on this policy. It is going to get even tougher for those using Canada as a stepping stone. Harper-ji was talking about revoking all of the PRs outside of Canada, and not letting them even enter to appeal. Canada wants immigrants, and PR's outside Canada are NOT immigrants.

Good luck with the process.

It is time that the Canadian govt. took notice of his genuine plight and grant some releif for cases like this.

Whether his plight is genuine or not, he wants to find out ways of solving a problem he got into now. I haven't heard anything about this kind of issue but I have seen something even worse! Some guy who lived here over 10 years as PR but did not renew his PR card has gotten into trouble trying to get citizenship! Go figure that one out. He is now going thru courts and feeding lawyers to get his status re-instated. Anyways, you may have to explore the possibility of going through courts to get re-instated or even file for PR again! How did you end up in this debacle? Was money in the US that good till now?
OK here is a new twist to this discussion;
Keeping the original post's intent in tact;
Entering into Canada after breaking the 2 yrs of 5 yrs rule;
- What if some one enters via road from US? where I am not sure if some one really checks on the dates.
But then the real question is can the PR card (and status) be extensible after the 5 years?
So now what do you think based on the above?
