1/ I am working in the US on a TN1 visa ...

2/ My employer got a extention for 1 more year from witin US.

3/ Now I am planning to visit Calgary for the Holidays.

4/ What do I do about the I94 ... i have one on the passport. which is expired on .. 11/23

5/ I have a new one on the 1 797 A ...

any help or pointers ...

Do not surrender your I-94 to the cdn authorities at the cdn POE in Calgary. Remove your expired I-94 from the passport while travelling to Canada. When returning to the US, use the I-797 (i.e. your current valid TN and the I-94 attached to the bottom of it) to enter US at the Calgary PFI.

I have done it and it is legal. Your I-94 (for TN status) is multple entry (even if it is not stamped "multiple entry".)
