Hi All,
I have bought used Toyota Carolla -2004 /94k cost me 13.5k from toyota delear.
The RPM problem:
During cold weather, while I start my car, the
rpm start from 2 and gradually increase till 3 and then after a while
it comes back to 1. Afterwards it remains at 1 once it warms up nicely.
Also during the driving when I stopped my car on traffic signal, my rpm indicator also increases abruptly.
Now i asked dealer to check my car and they checked it and said it is normal for Toyota Corolla.
I know so many people on this discussion have COROLLA, so please send me some tips or information. So i can look into it in detail.
Thanks
Is this some sort of JOke???
What do you mean by Joke????. I have a issue and want advice from people in this group.
Thanks
Well, I know my Toyota will start off at around 2 rpm and gradually drop to just under 1 (idling), after it warms up.

It is not with Corolla, it is with all cars. If the car is cold then generally idle RPM is always higher than after it is warmed up. Don't ask me why. BUT sure nothing to worry about.
