Hello,
I've heard that Montreal traffic rules can be different from those in TO e.g. no right turn on red lights.
Just wondering, if some one could tell me what other traffic rules in Quebec are different from those in TO?

Hi Jake,
Thanks vm for a quick response.
However, I did not understand what you mean by no right on a red on the island.
What is the island? Could you please explain in greater detail?
Thanks vm.

Oh, ok...mtl is an island afaik its only on the island that right turns on red light is disallowed.
The rest of Quebec driving rules are pretty much like in Ontario or south of the border. Hope this helps. Give a shout if you are lost here.

The CAA guidebook for Quebec has a section on driving in Quebec, signs and rules.
The bonjourQuebec website also has a section on driving.

Gentlemen,
Thank you very much for your responses.

p.s Jake -- I thought island probably referred to a round about or a triangular filter for a right turn - and was trying to visualise why wouldn't a right be allowed! Sure am glad you clarified .
Jake is refering to the Montreal Island and not traffic island.
Montreal is an island in St. Lawrence river.
