Got my first speeding ticket?

Doing 84km in 60km zone. How can I avoid points on my records? My friend suggested that I should get some lawyers involved. Another guy suggested that I can delay the court date by appealing not guilty. This will postpone the ticket.

I know if officer does not show up the ticket will be waived. But I am sure he will be there. .

Can anybody give me suggestions on how to avoid point on my record. Thanks

One of my friend has been lucky. Three times in a row the cop did not show up. He did prepare himself for pleading not guilty.
He typed a two pages explanation as well as he had take some pictures of the spot he was making an illegal turn.
You never know you may be lucky. It will also give you experience how the Canadian justice system works.
The other option is that they have these 'Ticket Clinics' on few street corners. Just pop in one for a free consultation . They help people with speeding tickets and other traffic ticket related legal problems. The Ticket Clinic is a law firm that concentrates on traffic offenses. The Ticket Clinic can represent you on your traffic ticket for one low fee. Usually, you don't even have to appear in court. A lawyer can appear on your behalf and, in most cases, the ticket won't even appear on your driving record.
If you live in Mississauga, then there is one on Hwy 10/Dundas (the new Plaza).
Good Luck and next time drive safe.

and you should be punished for that!

but since u r a desi guy, i give u one of my experiences.
DO NOT PLEAD GUILTY even if u were clocked on the radar

bug the hell out of the judge by asking (not urself but send someone) adjournments. try to get as many as possible until judge threatens to shoot u down for next adjourment.

go to court and plead not guilty. then ask the judge for "helping u" to access the copy of police man's report. just say u tried to get thru many departments but were getting jerked around. IT IS UR RIGHT TO HAVE ACCESS TO THAT COPY, my tax-payer friend.

now u got the police man's report which sould help u build ur strategy to fight. and u need to do a search on...
u should know a little bit of radar unit servicing
it will help u to learn a bit of radar principals and vehicle dynamix

chances r that u will never confront the cop in the court after second or third time. they wanna save cop's overtime pay.

or u could pretend to be a poor "dum immigrant" that is, just "go and sit" (do not tell the clerk that u have *arrived*) in the room until last soul is gone and then ask them how come no one called u. it will be ur luck again if that same cop has left already and u go free.
one of these trix must solve ur problem. however, if nothing worx and u loose. don't give up and don't pay fines, just go and appeal in the "county court" which is higher than traffic court. it will be a year to 2, b4 ur turn comes and trust me that cop will have died by then.

Any one ever get a ticket for hitting the red light, that is the easiest one to beat. call the grand rabbi and he will help ya.
