When you apply, you apply for "a" work permit. Which means 'ONE'. After you get your work permit, come down and meet with your current employer and work for him. While you are working, if you find a better job, you can change employers. That is a different process.

There are immigrants arriving daily. The Permission to avail people on work permit changes constantly. But once you get your work permit and arrive here, they will not send you back. But after you finish you number of years, they might not renew it, if you are not found suitable or do not adjust to local conditions. When your application is getting processed, if they find that there are a few who have been waiting in the pipe line, before you, they might reject your application too. So, be guided accordingly.
