I would like to know the oppurtunities for Sales Proffessionals from Middle east.

1. Which province will be better to start?

2. What type of jobs one generally gets to start for?

3. What are the chances for proffessionals from distribution/channel
management in FMCG/Telecom sector?

4. How much basic wage can one expect to start of?

5. Will it be benificial if I can take some course from \"College of North
Atlantic\" They have a campus here in Doha-Qatar.

6. Any advantages/disadvantages for experienced at middle management
level with age in early 40s.

Hi,

If one is a hard core sales professional or has enough sales experience, which has made him/her understand the fact that beginning is tough but future is always bright, than this country is an ideal fit. Canada gives great platform in terms of popular sales activities, such as AUTO SALES, REAL ESTATE, INSURANCE, MORTGAGE etc..

As far as job is concerned, one should try to complete some studies/courses and be in line with the Canadian requirement to get a sales job. Examples are Auto sales, Banking, Insurance etc..

Over all, my personal belief is that, if the break even is not an issue, than one should give a try to the "SELF EMPLOYMENT" route in this country. You save on tax, you write you own pay-cheque, decide your own working hours, settle very fast in the new country, give more time to your family and yourself and can afford luxury in early days and for ever.

I did that, and am enjoying the fruits. Canada immigration has 3 steps, SURVIVAl, ESTABLISHMENT and RISING. In your first step if you can SURVIVE with your initial funds and wife's initial job, GIVE A SHOT at the SELF EMPLOYMENT". But do this with one condition....

AFTER 20 years from now, remember this remote friend and say CHEERS!!! with a glass of "Glen Fiddich" scotch as this friend would also be doing the same sitting in his million dollar home (he he). (In fact he does that quite often in Canada now!!!)..

Ha ha.. Thanks. well I would be lying if I say that, "I am very well settled" as there is no definition/bench mark of being "VERY WELL SETTLED". I have not made any limits for that. For me settling in CANADA was always to have a true balance of WORK and LIFE. And I think that has made me feel that I am out of the RAT RACE.

I started as a LIFE INSURANCE and RESP broker and now after 3 years, I just took over as an AGA (like a MINI-SUPER BROKER, in the field of insurance). So apart from my personal sale, I recruit, train/coach and support new life licensed brokers. I represent an MGA (super broker) company, which is unarguably in the first 2 spots of the country in terms of Volume of business and no of brokers.

Well this is interesting to know. That means - I can opt for a similar venture if it interests me. I do have some experience in matters of finance and insurance.
What I would like to know is - what are the average earnings for free-lance insurance agents and what were your average earnings in the first year.
And if one is reasonably successful in the same what are the career advancement possibilities.
