Totally agreed and that's what I was referring to as well, covert forces. Good point about getting them on the defensive, I think these guys have a free ticket right now and we're always reacting.
If India cannot do this, then India (i.e. the democracy that is also the most secular society on the planet, both in theory and practice) will suffocate and die. I hope the govt. realizes the criticality of this incident and reacts with good measure unlike in the past where an incident like this would simply become a topic to facilitate political bickering.

It is well known in India that Sharad Pawar is the biggest supporter and partner of Dawood. However, he is a king maker also at State and Centre. Who do you think will send covert operatives? Centre? Well, he is a prominent Cabinet minister and that will be wishful thinking.
The fact is that Dawood is a de facto ruler of underground in Bombay even today and perhaps much stronger than before he fled to Pak. Many police officials even today are on his payroll. Chotta Rajan, one time henchmen of Dawood fell away after Bombay carnage. Our police has systematically targeted his gang (Nothing wrong with that) while sparing and supporting Dawood gang. Our security service, if they permit Chotta Rajan, will have not to do any thing. However, our politicians will not be able to do any thing as he has powerful connection with politicians and throgh them spineless bureaucracy. Remember NDA rule of 5 years? What exactly did they achieve? They could not even negotiate Dawood extradition when opportunity arose. Let sus accept the fact that Muslims account for 20% of Indian population and count much more due to their voting power (En mass block voting) and no politicain including those of BJP will do any thing to harm Dawood who is enjyonig Demi God status amongst Muslims.
Just to conclude that special court set up to prosecute Bombay blasts had identified a few properties in heart of Bombay (Bhindi Bazar ) area and since they were connected with Dawood ahs invited public bid to auction the property. Believe me , no one came forward to buy that (Undertandably) and hence a journalist asked Govt (Then ruled by BJP/Shiv sena) that why Govt does not convert these in to Govt buildings? The reply was that no Govt department was willing to move in that area!
Dawood can be dealt with by only other Don like Choota Rajan or some influential Industralist with money by giving contract money to Mossad.

On another note: We have relatives in BBY, i called them and they are safe but their daughter's friend's father (young age) had gone for dinner their with guest and was shot and died on the spot. V tragic this and over all.

Not only Pawar many others too from Congress, BJP and the Sena (Pawar and Bal thackarey are good friends). I am from Bombay so I am aware of the nexus.
The agency should only report to the pm. I know its a dangerous thing to create such a powerful entity but time for half measures is long gone.

How did he get out of Bangkok after the dcompany hit on him there. Chotta Rajan has long been on RAW payroll. Some pakistanis say he was behind the Karachi mall(belongs to Dawood) bombing.

When I said 'whatever it takes' I did not mean we have to send special soldiers in to do the job. Whatever it takes means just that. I dont care if its Chotta rajan or dawoods own maid servant

I agree! I have not seen this either. And if they DID let Muslim hostages go I am only happy that innocents were let go.
Come on guys lets not isolate people because they are muslim. Lets instead stand fast and defend them when they say that the attackers were not doing this on their(the muslim communities) behalf. OR else we are only going to be adding to the terrorists ranks.
