I came to Canada as a landed Immigrant in 2000 as a dependant of my husband he was the main applicant
When he applied we did not show my parents as my dependant because that time they were not (may be that time we didn't know the real meaning of it).
but My parents name is there in the column of parents : and u can say its my badluck that my father's first name is misspelled and my mother's last name is misspelled and their date of birth's are recorded wrong in my application form (my record of landing has no record of it. It is only in the application form).

And now I want to sponsor my parents and think that it is going to create a big problem for them. Is there anyway I can correct all this inforamtion.

Can I still sponsor them. Really nead the help/advice from a professional

Thanks

I know you would not do it. I also know that your husband will not do it. So, who did it? My guess is as good as yours. When you hire a high priced helper and you think that they will help you with everything at their disposal and with all of their abilities and they fail you, you will not know what all they goofed in till, you discover that at a later date. Well EIGHT years + is not bad. I am glad that you caught it at least now.

Since you have a copy of the files and the page and the line at which it was made, you get a current set of forms that look exactly like it or has a number on top that matches it, and fill out EXACTLY as it should read and ask your husband to initial it and sign the form at the bottom. You also know your file number too, so write a nice letter stating what it is that is wrong and why you are sending the proper sheet now, which is stating, that there is a spelling mistake and it is what it should be. Also state they are your dependents. Can you do it?

I know it is too much for you. SO, take what ever that you have on hand and go and meet with a Service Representative at the nearest Immigrant Help Center. If you know where it is, that is fine. If not, post it here under this and we will see what we can do to find one that is nearest to your place. Then you go there and fill out all of the forms there. They will help you with all of the materials at their disposal. They will also give you a copy to carry home. They will help you with the sponsorship application also. All you do is pay the fees and wait your turn. It will come soon and when your Parents Immigrate to Canada and rejoin you here, you will be all smiles.

How is that for help?

Good Luck.

Freddie.

(Please do not post two items of the same materials in two different headings. Here they call it spamming and I am sure you don't want to spam us, Right?)

Here are the links to one of the help centers. See if they will help you fill out all of the required forms etc., Please call them first and then go and complete the forms. You will need a lot of information. So, read the bottom most link and carry all of the details plus anything else that you might have, such as their Passport numbers, birth certificates etc., or copies of them. If you are not ready yet, then get all of these organized prior to your visit. But make sure that they will help you. So, call FIRST, confirm their location, see if parking is available and also their working hours etc.,

Hope this helps you get started.

Freddie.

A) Your parents can never defined as dependents (for the purpose of Canadian immigration) and you and your husband could not have added them to your application when you first applied to come to Canada.

B) If there were mistakes made in your application regarding your parents name and birth of date, that was over 8-9 years back. As long as the record of landing or your PR card does not mention those mistakes, you are safe. CIC does not match your sponsorship application with your PR application. However, you should ensure that you provide them with all supporting documentation (such as birth certificate etc) and maintain consistency in those documents. For example, the names of your parents should match in your birth certificate, your parents passports and their marriage certificate.

C) You can follow the steps outlined by Freddie, but in my opinion, it is not needed, for the reasons outlined above. However, if it makes you sleep better, go ahead but note that your application will then become "marked" and will be scrutinized in greater detail when you finally apply.

D) Try speaking to CIC call center and ask for their advice. Call 3-4 different times and see if you get the same answer, as sometimes even their call center reps give out conflicting information.

I have tried to find some information but haven't found any. so please if you could advise on the following questions. Thank you.

1) I wish to sponsor my parents and dependent sister. they are now in Pakistan, but my Parents will be getting their GC in the next 6 months, but my sister will not as she has a multiple entry visitors visa for US.
I want to apply to sponsor them now because it takes time CIC Mississauga. so should i apply with their details as they are in Pakistan. then can i get the information changed when they arrive in US, because processing through US is faster then through Pakistan ?

2) The Income to be shown for sponsoring parents is Gross income or Net income. as i am a self employed contractor so my taxable income is less then my Gross.

Thank you very much
