Everyone knows that dental care in the North America is very expensive. In Canada, especially for new immigrants and for those who don’t have proper employment, dental care is almost out of reach.
Do you know that in Toronto you can get cheaper dental care? University of Toronto ( Faculty of Dentistry) treats patients and charge only 30% to 40% of normal fees prescribed by Ontario Dental Association .
Faculty of Dentistry can be reached at the following telephone number :

But maybe they let the students do the work as 'training'...I personally have no problem with that... I've observed that students are far better at the basic procedures than many of the so-called professionals , so maybe for a tooth-extract yes , but not for a root canal!
Biomed,
Your advice came at the right time since my daughter had an apointment with dentist (actually orthodontist), and so I asked my wife to call them up. This advice was also given to us by the York Region Health Services about a year back.
However, my wife called them and was on hold for 45-50 minutes (believe it or not - since for me it would mean a saving of a couple grand), and at 5.30, an automated reply was heard that now the office was closed so she should call later!
But well, will try again if it means such a big savings!
