Everyone knows that dental care in the North America is very expensive. In Canada, especially for new immigrants and for those who don’t have proper employment, dental care is almost out of reach.

Do you know that in Toronto you can get cheaper dental care? University of Toronto ( Faculty of Dentistry) treats patients and charge only 30% to 40% of normal fees prescribed by Ontario Dental Association .

Faculty of Dentistry can be reached at the following telephone number :

416 979 4927

Thanks and regards.

But maybe they let the students do the work as 'training'...I personally have no problem with that... I've observed that students are far better at the basic procedures than many of the so-called professionals , so maybe for a tooth-extract yes , but not for a root canal!

Biomed,

Your advice came at the right time since my daughter had an apointment with dentist (actually orthodontist), and so I asked my wife to call them up. This advice was also given to us by the York Region Health Services about a year back.

However, my wife called them and was on hold for 45-50 minutes (believe it or not - since for me it would mean a saving of a couple grand), and at 5.30, an automated reply was heard that now the office was closed so she should call later!

But well, will try again if it means such a big savings!

Here checking and cleaning is $129 + tax and if u are ready to pay cash and no bill then, it is 25-30% discount. I was told $70 cleaning for children.

Implant is $2000 per tooth. I was just checking with the operators. Root canal is $600.

I went to flexicare and they gv me full family health and dental insurance $261 pm and for first $750 spent, they will reimburse 70% and all other amount 90% coverage. I asked them about their competitors and they said sunlife Insurance. I have a meeting with them and will update later. cheers!
