We are planing for a vacation to Calgary for a week in June. I am wondering if anybody can guide us to a good location for hotel / or a hotel and any package tours that take us around to lake louis / banff etc.

Any suggestions would be welcome and we may also meet some cdn desi members if possible :)

Thanks

That means you have to meet THOSANDS of Desi as Calgary has so many DESI's

Anyway, just take Rent a Car & drive to Banff/Lake Loiuse
If you have time, even go to Jasper, its worth

Sorry not aware of hotels, but try Holiday Inn or similar kind, you will get some better deals

You can stay any where in city unless you only Indian Food, then stay in North East part

Let me know if you need any specific info

Hope you have nice time

Hi :)
I would recommend staying in Banff and then doing a day trip to Lake Louise. There are very few (I think only one) hotels in LL and its pricey. Banff is huge and has hotels for every budget. The Banff Springs Hotel (Fairmont) is very nice and elegent/expensive but is far away from the town, up in the mountains.

Its a 1 hr drive to Banff from Calgary airport. Let me know if u need more info.

No point in staying in Calgary. Stay in Banff. It is beautiful.

There is a point in living in Calgary - you save money - it is just an hour away from Banff. Hotels in Banff are expensive. But if you get a good deal or if you do not mind spending more $, then staying in Banff is better.

Hotels in Calgary may be cheaper but the joy of staying in Banf is completely different. It i worth the extra money in hotel

Its lovely staying in Banff - the mountain air is fresh and Calgary is a typical city.

I advise if you are looking for a place to eat, to stay away from the Old Spaghetti Factory in Banff. Elsewhere they are fine, but that particular location wasnt very good for some reason.
