Current low income cut off for family of three (to sponsor 1 person in family class) is $40,259.

-i am wondering if i meet this and sponsor a family person this year, the immigration process will start, BUT if i dont meet this for next 2 years what will happen?

-does CIC look into or ask for your income for the full time period (from now untill the case is cleared)?
-or they will only ask for the year e.g. 2012 income?

There is a certain percentage of people who are audited at the time of sponsorship approval (currently at 28 months) to verify whether they still qualify. If you are just above the cut-off criteria, then your chances for being audited may increase.

The bottom line is that CIC is trying to discourage parental sponsorships in every possible way - increasing approval times, tougher medical exams etc. Thats just the way it is.
