Hi CDs. Anyone here from Halifax, NS? We are from around the Toronto west area planning a trip there around mid August and would love to meet some fellow CDs living in Halifax. We are not going to Cape Breton unfortunately so we will be missing the much desired Cabot trail drive...however could you please suggest some scenic drives around Halifax? Other than Peggy's Cove...
I m sure this has been discussed before on the forum . Please use the 'search' box and key in 'Halifax ' .
Its a pity you are not going to the Cabot Trail .. its just 4 hrs away from Halifax ....you should tey to see it if possible . Apart from Peggy s Cove you could perhaps visit Shubenakidie on a day trip ....
If you can have a night stop over , Annapolis Royal (ex capital of NS ) can be a good bet .... and the route via Louis berg hwy 7/8 and hwy 1 should be beautiful ...
Don't skip Public Gardens , Spring Garden Rd , Waterfront , Citadel Hill , Lake Banook , Lawrencetown beach , Harbor Front and a ferry ride b/w Halifax and Dartmouth while in Halifax ...

Here is an old thread http://www.canadiandesi.com/read.php?TID=20904

- Thanks a lot. I did search but most of the posts that turned up were related to immigration, desi grocery stores, apartments for rent and such
I have bought a westjet vacation package which includes flight+hotel+car. I MAY do the 3-4 hour drive to Cabot Trail...it could be a stretch. Plus there are many places around Halifax itself...as you have mentioned yourself (thanks again for that)

- That link did help. Thanks. Just lacks a little more details on specific scenic areas around Halifax. I will add after I am back. But it is very true that the east coast and its beautiful Atlantic side is one of the best destinations.
