Hi Friends,
My son is US born citizen and 3 years old.
He has US passport and living in Canada on PR status. We are in Canada on PR status too.
My question is:
If I'll get his citizenship of canada with us, is it going to effect his US citizenship?
I read somewhere on internet that US born citizen is applying for citizen of other country, He has to give his US citizenship back. I am not sure about rules of USA dual citizenship.
I would like to know from someone who faced this situation...
Thanks

he will become a dual citizen.
then get him an OCI if needed.
As per this site ( http://www.Canadianalternative.com)" rel="nofollow">LINK you can provided you enter America as an Indian.
Also check if a Dual citizen can hold a PIO card or OCI.

Dual Citizenship
You can decide to formally give up your U.S. citizenship upon the acquisition of your Canadian citizenship or you can decide to have dual citizenship. Canada allows its citizens to hold dual citizenship. The United States generally discourages citizens from holding dual citizenship as a matter of policy. However, U.S. citizens can hold both American and Canadian citizenship as long as they enter the U.S. as an American and maintain allegiance to the U.S.

If he will get dual citizenship, Which passport he should use to travel between USA and Canada?

You can use what ever passport the immigration asks you.
In Dual citizenship, you can use one passport to enter a country (USA) and then use another passport at the originating country (Canada).
As long as you have both passports, you need not be afraid. But to be on the cautious side, try to have both the passports valid (not expired) at all times.
e.g. an Egyptian in my office is a Dual citizen. Last time he visited Egypt he had an expired egyptian passport. But still they allowed him to enter and exit Egypt. He showed his expired Egyptian passport at the Egyptian immigration and they did not tell him anything.
