BUt the jist of the reply is, deeds justify actions. If the "brown skinned middle eastern ppl" want to pursue with their deeds..then its but pertinent that other "brown skinned ppl" will pay the price !
*************************
Deeds Justify action, but can You justify taking action against somebody for deeds done by somebody else? America's history is full of such double standards and hypocrisy. They proclaimed their country "Land of the Free" and yet promotion of Slavery & Racism was an official policy untill a few years ago. They interned Japanese Immigrants during WW2 in concentration camps while the German Immigrants were left alone. They invaded a country on the false pretext of WMDs while the truth is, USA is the only country in the world to have used a Weapon of Mass Destruction against another country (Hiroshima & Nagasaki WW2). The biggest Terrorist nation in the world pointing fingers at other rogue nations? If that isn't hypocrisy, then what is?
Like BL said, defending USA from terror attacks is the fundamental right of Americans, "ALL Americans" ; whether they are White, Black or Blue. After 9/11, America seems to have adopted a " We Trust only White" policy. If any one tries to tell me that only people of color have led attacks against America, I would ask them to go read their history books. Everybody in the US is baying for OBL's blood while everybody has forgotten the "White" American Citizen who was caught fighting "along" with the Taliban "against" the United States.
At the end, I would like to include a few lines from Billy Joel
Some people hope for a miracle cure
While some accept the world as it is
but I refuse to just lay down and die
because I am an Innocent Man!
Thx

Yep..think it was for 'A Fine Balance'. I would highly recommend it , especially to Bombay lovers. Most of it is set in a city by the sea . Though Bombay is not explicitly mentioned... its quite obvious.
Imho, the book is worth every penny.
