Do you have PR Card?
The PR Card is your "visa" to enter Canada as a permanent resident any time, any number of times - as long as you are able to meet the permanent residency requirements as per -

Hi,
I understand it is a visa for entry,BUT
if a person cannot complete or is unable to stay for minimum 730 days,
does he/she have an alternate?

What if he wants to re-enter Canada without completing his 730 days?

Which VISA can he opt for or is there a way to avoid this,i.e cancellation of the pr card ?

That is why I was asking whether one can convert the PR card
to a returning resident or multiple entry visa, through the candian high commission,or is there any clause to do such thing ,which only an immigration expert can tell ???

Just to let us everyone here know:What is the object of going to Canada?

Obviously to get better salary jobs, good working conditions, environment, safety and
education of children!Plus get Canadian citizenship and ability to cross USA !!!

Now,tell me in the current recesssion scenario, does anyone like to be jobless or stay on govt funds, just to be a called a canadian citizen or cross usa!

Well, one can always go straight, apply for a tourist visa and see canada and usa!!!
The thing is if one has a good job at home(india)why leave it to get jobless and
homeless?

Everyone has different views and it would be infact interesting to know views on people on this topic and can even be represented to the canadian higher authorities to change the rules seeing the currnet job scenarios and layoff's and global recession!!!

While every other country in the world that offers immigrations is reducing the intake because of recession, Canada is still taking in more 2 lakh people as immigrants every year.

-- No. The person loses his PR status then.

-- Apply for visitor's visa, if you are no longer a PR.

-- There is no such process (of conversion of the PR card to any other status).

So essentially what you are saying is that because Canada is in a recession and there are no high-paying jobs here that can interest you and the only reason to get Canada immigration is to leverage it as a stepping stone to the US, the Govt. of Canada should allow you free, multiple re-entry visa?
You wanna eat your cake and have it too, sounds like.
This is not a toll highway, where you pay a quater to cross over to the US.
PR has certain requirements - take it as is or leave it.
