Hi all,
This is regarding my 4 year old son's PR card. We landed in June 2008 and we were in Toronto for a week and left. We gave our friends address for PR cards. We haven't received our son's PR card. CIC sent a letter mentioning that his photos need to be retaken within 180 days. So as we are not in Canada we were unable to take our son for the photo session. Our friend was unable to contact CIC on our behalf. Also as I am not in Canada I cannot call the toll free number from outside the country.
I asked about this in CD at that time. People like Jonav and Gopalpai kindly replied me. I am thankful for them. From their replies I realised there is no point in posting my son's photos and we decided to do it once we come there permanently. But as you all know that the economy is bad we are postponing to come there.
But now my friend in Toronto received a letter again from CIC on 1st Feb 2010 asking to bring my son for the photo session within 2 weeks from 1st Feb 2010. As we are not there it is impossible for us to come. They also mentioned in the letter \"if you fail to attend, your application will be abandoned and you will have to submit another application\".
So as they said after we come there may be end of 2010 or even later (haven't decided yet when to come) can we reapply again at that time. Is there any complication if we do that. Will they ask us any questions as why we haven't been living in Canada? What would be the actual process for reapplying again? How long will it take?
Also should I have to fax them (as I cannot call them from abroad) to let them know that we are unable to come as we are not in the country. If so can any one kindly tell me the fax number or e-mail address? Or if I write a letter to them explaining all this is the postal address same as in the letter (55 St. Clair Ave East....).
Can any one please advice what would be the most appropriate thing to do. Has any one been in the same situation before. Please reply.
Thanks a lot.
Many thanks,
SS.

SS, as mentioned by brown bear, whenever you guys relocate bring your son in Canada by having a Travel document and apply for the card from here. The new application doesn't take much time, you can expect your cards in 1-3 months of applying.
Hope this helps.
Jona
Thank you very much for your replies Jonav, Brown bear and Gopalpai. I will leave this matter now and apply TD for my son when we come to Canada. Hope this should be fine.
Many thanks,
SS.
