We landed in Toronto Canada last march 14, with my wife, She already received her P.R. last May. However I didnt receive my P.R instead I received a letter which they mentioned that my photo doesnt meet the requirement and they are requiring me to submit the photo in person within 180 days upon reciept of the letter on which the deadline will be until Feb 13 2011. We are now working in Qatar and I wont be able to go back in canada on the mentioned deadline due to I cannot go for a leave because of the projects which I need to finish, Secondly, I cannot afford the expenses just to submit the photo. Also, we are planning to go back to Canada for good on 2012.
What happens if I don't go to take photo within 180 days? Does it effects the PR status? Are they going to cancel the whole permanent residency status if I don't comply within 180 days ?
Can I still apply for travel documents on 2012 in my home country in Philippines? Can I apply for PR card once back in Canada?

i am also in same dilema. in my case my dughters card has not come and i live in dubai. looking forward for desis advise..
check with the local consulate, call them and ask the question.
They might allow you to submit photos in consulate in person.

This will not affect your pr status. You still have 3 years to return to Canada. You will apply for travel document and once you are in Canada you can apply for your new pr card and pay a fee ($50).
