I came to Canada three years ago with a degree in Engg from one of the Institutes of Technology and also a Masters Degree in Management from another Commonwealth Country with many years of managerial experience. I have been only doing been doing Telemarketing in Canada after wasting my lifetimes savings.
had u been in usa, the life would be much better and successful. i give u a few examples.
a mechanical engineer from india and an mba from england. the man worked as a maintenance mechanic. but he was sharp and smart. today he is rolling in 7 digit$$$. he started buying rental houses while he was working and used to deliver news paper in the morning b4 coming to work.
a young doctor from india, but worked with a printing giant as a machine operator for app. 3 years and i don't know if he is still there.
a mechanical engineer in india, works with an industrial supplier of bearings and gets orders for their machine shop, and he told me that he knows a doctor who had been driving cab for some time.
another engineer from india, working as a mechanic who was selling kids clothers in a flee market and to planning to run his own business in near future.
lot of engineers end up working as draftsmen, machine shop operators or mechanix. the opportunities in canada are very limited. only 5% of the people are lucky enough to be at the right place in right time.
the epitome is, a pro will not do too good as compared to a skilled worker from india. but.....
but think of entrepreneurship, and u will shine only then. remember, u live among the dummies who are in majority and nothing more than "proud canadians". i have not seen a single anglo sax canadian who has shown the wonder in scientific world in last 50 years. frickin' farmer boys.

Life: Love it or Change it!!
Don't lose heart WindsorGuy,
Who knows, maybe one day You'll come up with a solution thru which angry callers will get subliminal messages over the phone that'll calm them down before they speak to a Rep? That'll improve customer retention and also decrease the burnout rate among Tele Marketing reps.
